NEW DELHI : Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was highly thankful to the former US President George W Bush for the nuclear deal which was a great milestone achievement in the Indo-US relationship. This word of gratitude came from the PM during a lunch which he had hosted to the former US premiere who is in India to take part in the Hindustan Times Leadership Summit.
That the two were old friends were evident at the sumptuous luncheon where a wide array of decicacies were spread for former President Bush who was seen all smiles throughout the lunch when he even preferred to crack a few jokes.
The grand luncheon was attended only by select invitees most of whom are close to the Prime Minister and those who helped towards the realisation of the Indo-US nuclear deal. Prominent among the participants were Congress President Sonia Gandhi, MP Rahul Gnadhi. Foreign Minister SM Krishna, Opposition Leader LK Advani. Lok Sabha Speaker Meera Kumar and Ambika Soni, Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting.
