Paid crores to SG, RG, AICC, Karnataka Congress leader’s diary reveals

Bengaluru, Feb 24: A diary containing several names to whom kickbacks were paid allegedly by Congress MLC Govindraj has become public. The diary entry of the leader, who was recently raided by the Income Tax department, contains initials such as RG, AICC, SG office, M Vohra among other initials.

It is not clear who these persons are. It may be recalled that on Sunday BJP leader B S Yeddyurappa accused chief minister Siddaramaiah of taking Rs 150 crore as kickback for sanctioning the controversial steel flyover in Bengaluru.

The diary shows that a sum of Rs 3.2 crore was paid to Vohra. It also shows that Rs 6 crore was paid to RG office and Rs 5 crore to SG office. There is also an initial called DGVS.

Yeddyurappa had alleged that kickbacks had been paid to the Congress high command to mobilise funds for the Congress party. Of the Rs 150 crore, Rs 65 crore has already been paid to the party high command, he alleged. Govindraj was raided by the IT department in March 2016 and several documents and a diary were seized. The diary entries suggets that the transactions were made during the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.
