Pakistan hangs man who wanted to kill Musharraf

	pervez-musharrNew Delhi, December 31, 2014: A former Pakistani Air Force official, convicted of trying to assassinate General (retd) Pervez Musharraf, was hanged to death on Wednesday.

Niaz Mohammad, who worked as a junior technician, was hanged in a Peshawar jail, reported Dawn.com.

Niaz was found guilty of tying to assassinate Musharraf, the president of Pakistan, in Rawalpindi in 2003.
 
 

There were two attempts on the life of Musharraf. The first took place in Rawalpindi on December 14, 2003.

Six Pakistan Air Force personnel were convicted for the attempt on Musharraf’s life. Later, five, including Niaz Mohammad, were also sentenced to death.

On December 25 that year, there was another attempt to kill Musharraf in Rawalpindi.
