Srinagar, Jan 16: The Indian Army on Wednesday released pictures of Pakistani army landmines which were recovered from the Indian side of the Line of Control. The mines were found to be manufactured at the Pakistan Ordinance Factory and had their markings.

The mines are anti-personnel and their pictures were given to the Pakistani army officers during the flag meet on Monday. Keeping up the pressure on Pakistan, General Officer Commanding, Northern Command, Lieutenant General KT Parnaik said on Tuesday that the Pakistan troops have been provoking the Indian side so that the LoC remains "hot and active".

"Pakistan has been resorting to violence. In 2011, there were more than 100 ceasefire violations as compared to 52 last year. Pakistan is frustrated as infiltration is not taking place. Our troops are exercising great restraint," he said.

Even as the situation at the LoC remained tense, war of words between India and Pakistan intensified on Wednesday. India raised Pakistan’s continuing support to terror groups at the United Nations on Wednesday, seeking international action against state sponsors of terror. India named Pakistan terror groups Lashkar-e-Toiba and Jamaat-ud-Dawa as major security threats to South East Asian countries.

Meanwhile, Pakistani Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar accused India of warmongering. In her address to the Asia Society in New York, Khar expressed deep disappointment at the statements from India’s top political and military leadership.
