Rajasthan, Feb 03, 2018 : An 82-year-old paralytic woman from Rajasthan’s Alwar reportedly died after being thrashed by her son, who teaches at a government school in the district. According to the police, a video clip of the incident was recorded by the man’s nephew, who wanted to expose his grandmother’s mistreatment.

The video shows the man trying to move his ailing mother inside a shed. He then grabs her by the neck and pushes her around roughly, before forcing her to a wooden stool. In another sequence, the man walks out of the shed with his mother, but stops midway to push her face down, before settling her on the same wooden seat.

According to the police, the video was recorded on 18 January, when the man in question was seen reportedly thrashing his old mother, who had been paralysed for the last six years. The woman, ANI says, died on the same day and had reportedly been tortured by her son for years.

The video surfaced after a lunch was organised in the village to commemorate the woman’s death on 28 January. After receiving a report on the matter, the police rushed to the woman’s house, and verified that the video was indeed shot there.
"It seems the video was recorded on 18 January 2019. A lunch was organised on 28 January in honour of the deceased woman who had been paralysed and sick for the last six years. She was 80 years old." - Surendra Malik, SHO, Alwar

Police have now registered a case against the man for causing deliberate harm to his ailing mother.

The nephew who had recorded the video is yet to record his full statement before the police, following which the video’s exact date will become clear.

Meanwhile, the man in the video has gone missing.
