Bengaluru, Mar 02, 2024: A photo of the Bengaluru bomb blast suspect, wearing a grey shirt, white cap and a mask, carrying a plate of idli inside the popular Rameshwaram Cafe was captured on CCTV.
According to police, 10 people, including staff and customers, were injured in the blast that took place around 1 pm on Friday at Bengaluru’s Whitefield area.

The suspect, around 30 years old, came to the cafe with a bag, believed to be carrying the explosive, at around 11.30 am. He ordered rava idli at around 11.38 am and was captured on CCTV camera placed above a counter in the cafe.
However, he did not eat the food and was seen at the wash basin closet at around 11.44 am. A minute later, he was seen leaving the cafe. The explosive went off at around 12.56 pm.
Another CCTV footage showed the suspect walking towards the restaurant with the bag.
Police suspect that an improvised explosive device (IED) fitted with a timer inside a bag caused the low-intensity blast.
A case has been registered under the stringent Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and Explosives Substances Act in connection with the explosion.
On Saturday, personnel from the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and National Security Guard (NSG) reached the spot to help the local police in their investigation.
Divya Raghavendra Rao, co-founder and managing director, Rameshwaram Cafe, said they were cooperating with the authorities and officials in their investigations.
