Poisoned biryani kills seven family members in suspected suicide pact

Hyderabad, Dec 22, 2017 : Could seven members of a family in Telangana’s Rajapet have poisoned themselves after making a suicide pact? That’s the suspicion, but police are still investigating the case.

 

An initial investigation suggested that the family ate biryani mixed with pesticide (related to poultry).

A case of suspicious death has been registered, and the bodies were sent for post-mortem analysis.

All the people who died - D Balaraj(44), his wife Tirumala (39), their children Shivani (14), Chintu (12) and Banni (8), and Tirumala’s parents Bala Narasaiah (65) and Bharatamma (60) - were related to a labourer working at a poultry farm.

Police recovered the bodies of Balaraj’s family from one room, while those of Tirumala’s parents were found in another.
