Mysuru, Feb 03, 2015: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s younger brother Prahlad Modi visited Chamundi Hills and the Mysore palace here on Monday.
Mr. Prahlad Modi, who is the national vice-president of the Fair Price Shop Owners’ Association, participated in the Karnataka State Convention of Fair Price Depot Owners at Nelamangala in Mandya district on Sunday before visiting Brindavan Gardens and arriving in Mysuru.
After an overnight halt at the Government Guest House in Mysuru, Mr. Prahlad Modi visited Chamundi Hills early on Monday and then the palace. Palace board Deputy Director T.S. Subramanya accompanied Mr. Prahlad Modi and presented him with a book, Magnificent Mysore Dasara .
Speaking to reporters at Mysore palace, Mr. Prahlad Modi praised the erstwhile Maharajas of Mysuru for the concern they had towards their subjects and hoped that present-day administrators too shared the same concern for the people.
Though Mr. Prahlad Modi initially refused to respond to queries on the upcoming Assembly polls in Delhi stating he had no interest in politics, he later said he hoped the voters brought the BJP to power with majority.
He was presented with a Mysuru peta by president of the BJP Mysuru city unit Maruti Rao Pawar.
However, he gave away the peta to some foreign tourists at the palace.
Mr. Prahlad Modi left Mysuru in the afternoon for Bengaluru.
