Proud of him: Infosys co-founder Narayana Murthy on Rishi Sunak’s elevation as UK PM

New Delhi, Oct 25, 2022: Infosys co-founder Narayana Murthy, in his first remark on the ascent of his son-in-law Rishi Sunak as Britain’s Prime Minister, said he was really proud of him and wished him success.

 

"Congratulations to Rishi. We are proud of him and we wish him success," Murthy said in first reaction emailed to PTI.

Rishi Sunak is set to become the United Kingdom’s first Indian-origin Prime Minister after Penny Mordaunt dropped out of the race on Monday. He will be the 5th UK prime minister in the last six years.

Sunak married Akshata, Narayana Murthy’s daughter, in 2009, and the couple has two daughters, Krishna and Anoushka.
