RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat Hoists Flag in Palakkad School Against Kerala Government’s Orders

Palakkad, Jan 26, 2018 : Despite the Kerala government’s orders allowing specific persons for flag hoisting in educational institutions and public offices, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, yet again, unfurled the tricolour in Kerala school during Republic Day 2018 celebrations. Mohan Bhagwat on Friday unfurled the tricolour in a Palakkad school. The LDF government had earlier issued a circular in which it stated that only the department or office heads are allowed to hoist the flag in schools, colleges, and health institutions, after the Governor. But Bhagwat went right ahead and hoisted a flag in the school.

The government circular had said that at the district-level, an assigned minister is allowed to hoist the national flag. In panchayats, its president can hoist the flag. In municipal areas, the municipal chairperson and mayor can hoist the flag. At the sub-district and block level, sub-divisional magistrate and block panchayat can unfurl the flag.
