Rahul Dravid’s son Samit gets maiden India U-19 call-up for Australia series

Bengaluru, August 31, 2024: Samit Dravid, the son of legendary India batter Rahul Dravid, has received his maiden India U-19 call-up as he’s been picked in the white-ball and red-ball squads for an upcoming series against Australia U-19 at home. The India U19 squad will  take on Australia U19 in three one-dayers and two four-day matches to be held in Puducherry and Chennai respectively.

The two series will be held in September and October.

Samit made his senior men’s cricket debut recently when he’s representing Mysuru Warriors in the ongoing Maharaja T20 Trophy in Karnataka. He’s batted in the middle order for the Warriors and scored 82 runs in seven innings at a strike-rate of 114.

Samit also bowls medium pace.

The one-day squad will be captained by Uttar Pradesh cricketer Mohamed Amaan while Soham Patwardhan of Madhya Pradesh will lead the red-ball squad.
