Rahul Gandhi to visit violence-hit Manipur on June 29

New Delhi, June 27, 2023: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi will pay a visit to violence-hit Manipur from June 29 to 30, said the party’s general secretary KC Venugopal on Tuesday.
Gandhi will visit the relief camps set up in the state and interact with the civil society representatives in Imphal and Churachandpur during his visit, added Venugopal.

Manipur has been in a state of turmoil since May 3, when violence broke out between the Meitei and Kuki communities following a protest march by the All Tribal Students’ Union Manipur (ATSUM). Ever since then, the violence in the hill-state has claimed more than 100 lives.
