Bangalore, July 3: Chief Minister’s son B Y Raghavendra wanted to sell his G-category BDA site which was allotted to him last year.

The Bangalore Development Authority had allotted the site to MP Raghavendra after demolishing houses on it.

 

Now, Raghavendra apparently wanted permission from the BDA to allow him to sell the site during the locking period. However as per BDA rules, once the G-category site is allotted, the owner of the property cannot sell the land for 10 years.

G-category sites are sold at the cost of Rs 250 per sq ft, and Raghavendra was allotted a 50X80 at the cost of Rs 8.6 lakh at Raj Mahal Vilas (RMV), II stage, Nagashettihalli Grama Survey No. 22/5, site no. 01.

Incidentally, MLC Bharathi Shetty, who is the owner of site no 2, also wanted permission to sell the site during the locking period.

Following these demands, the BDA came up with a resolution in the board meeting held on March 26, where both owners were refused permission to sell the sites within the locking period. The copy of the letter from BDA is available with Deccan Herald.

The Chief Minister has already allotted 163 sites under his recommendation to 163 ‘eminent’ persons at various locations in the City. As per the rules of the BDA, ‘eminent’ persons are those who have rendered service to the public. But the list of persons who have been allotted sites includes MP, MLAs, MLCs, ministers, former MLAs, former ministers, a businessman, a film producer and employee from a private firm.
