Section 144 imposed in Mumbai for Ganesh Chaturthi; devotees not allowed in pandals

Mumbai, Sep 09, 2021: In its effort to keep the Covid-19 situation under control, the police imposed Section 144 of the CrPc in Mumbai for Ganesh Chaturthi from September 10 to 19. According to a new order issued on Thursday, the assembly of five or more people will be prohibited during the festival.

 

Officials also said that devotees would not be allowed to visit pandals. Ganpati processions - the main attraction during the Ganesh Chaturthi festive days - have also been disallowed to ensure no large gathering takes place in the financial capital of India.
