Security scare in Tirumala: Man held with pistol, 14 bullets

Hyderabad, August 2, 2017: A Pune man was caught with a pistol and 14 rounds of ammunition during checking at Alipiri checkpost in Tirumala town of Chittoor district in Andhra Pradesh.

The revolver was hidden in the car along with the bullets and were recovered by security guards at the checkpost.

The checkpost is located at the entry point of famous Tirupati Venkateswara Temple situated in the hill town of Tirumala.

Four people including two women have been taken into custody for further investigation.

The entire security cover in the temple town has been put on high alert.
