Senior citizen stabbed 10 times in Delhi, uses same knife to attack help

New Delhi, Dec 01, 2017 :  An elderly woman was stabbed 10 times allegedly by her domestic help inside her home in south Delhi yesterday afternoon. She then used the knife she was attacked with on the 23-year-old help, Tulsi.

 

Neerja Gupta, who lives in a second floor apartment in the upscale Greater Kailash-1, has been admitted to the AIIMS hospital and is in critical condition.

Tulsi, hired recently, had allegedly demanded Rs. 5 lakh from her employer. She has been arrested.

She allegedly took an auto and traveled some distance before calling the police and complaining that she had been robbed and attacked with a knife.

The crime has been reported a day after Delhi was ranked the most unsafe of 19 major cities in India. The capital recorded the highest crime rate in the country in 2016, according to data released by the National Crime Records Bureau.
