Sensex gains - FM in Parliament to present budget-2014-15

New Delhi, July 10 (ANI):  Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has reached Parliament after paying a visit to Rashtrapati Bhawan and Finance Ministry earlier today.

The first copies of Union Budget 2014 have also reached the Parliament.

People all around the country are hoping for a respite from inflation. However, the leaders of opposition party are not expecting much from the Union Budget.

Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Naresh Agarwal said that common people should not expect relief from BJP government’s Union Budget.

An economic survey presented two days back mentioned that massive efforts are needed in the form of investment in social infrastructure, skill development and empowerment of women.

A benchmark index of Indian equities markets Thursday gained 64.08 points or 0.25 percent as auto stocks surged.

The Bharatiya Janata Party-led government will be presenting its Budget later in the day.

Good buying was observed in auto, capital goods and consumer durables sectors, while selling pressure was seen in healthcare sector.

The 30-scrip Sensitive Index (Sensex) of the S&P Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 25,513.74 points, was trading at 25,508.89 points (at 09.15 a.m.) in the early session, up 64.08 points or 0.25 percent from the previous day’s close at 25,444.81 points.

The Sensex touched a high of 25,513.74 points and a low of 25,504.34 points in trade.

The wider 50-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was trading flat at 0.90 points or 0.01 percent up at 7,585.90 points.
