Hyderabad, Feb 16, 2018 : Seven daily wage workers died due to suffocation in a septic tank they were cleaning at a poultry farm in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh on Friday morning.
According to reports, eight workers were engaged in cleaning the septic tank at the farm.
The workers ventured into the tank without taking any precautions. As they stepped into the tank, they reportedly got stuck in the mud and were unable to wriggle out of it.
However, eyewitnesses said that all the seven, who died in a hospital, inhaled poisonous gases in the septic tank.
The lone survivor, Siva, is recovering at the Palamaneru government hospital.
The relatives of the deceased gathered in large number at the hospital and blamed the management of the poultry farm for the deaths.
