Paris, July 28, 2024: Shooter Manu Bhaker clinched India’s first medal of the Paris Olympics 2024, striking bronze in Women’s 10m Air Pistol final at the Chatearoux Shooting Center. By doing so, Bhaker scripted history by becoming the first Indian woman to win a medal in shooting at the Olympic games.
After winning the medal, Manu Bhaker expressed her delight. However, she insisted that the job is not done as she wants to do better in the other disciplines. She will be in action tomorrown in the Mixed 10m Air Pistol, as well as the Women’s 25m Pistol on August 2.
Meanwhile, Arjun Babuta and Ramita Jindal also raised India’s medal hopes by qualifying for the Men’s and Women’s 10m Air Rifle finals. Later in the day, Indian women’s archery team will take on the Netherlands in the quarterfinal tie.
