Six including five of a family killed in head-on collision

Chitradurga, Nov 25, 2017 : Six persons, including five of a family, were killed in a head-on collision between two SUVs on National Highway-4 close to Athithya Hotel near Metikurke in Hiriyur taluk of the district on Saturday.

 

Four persons have suffered grievous injuries in the accident.

The deceased have been identified as Praveen Devashetty (35), his wife Soumya (30), their children Sharath (6) and Praneeka (3) and Soumya’s brother Sagar (28), all residents of Bengaluru. They were travelling in Maruti Ertiga.

Anwar Shivu (55), an APMC member from Chitradurga, was also killed in the accident. Shivu, along with four others, was travelling in Scorpio.

Injured Shanu, Dhanu, Mansoor and Shakeer have been rushed to a hospital in Davangere for treatment.

The Hiriyur Rural police have registered a case.
