The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), too, raised slogans demanding legislation on a Land Acquisition Bill acceptable to farmers.

Earlier, Vice President Hamid Ansari adjourned the House till 12 noon as the Opposition started shouting slogans demanding a discussion on the 2G scam.

The BJP demanded the suspension of Question Hour as it wanted to corner the United Progressive Alliance Government, and discuss Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Union Home Minister P Chidambaram’s alleged role in the 2G scam.

BJP spokesperson Prakash Javadekar moved a notice demanding the suspension of Question Hour in the Rajya Sabha. The party was also upset with Singh’s "skeletons in the cupboard" statement and expressed its protest.

The Prime Minister had on Sunday told the Opposition bluntly that it has "too many skeletons in its cupboard", a remark that raised the hackles of the BJP.

BJP MPs also wanted to raise the price rise issue apart from demanding answers from the Prime Minister on the July 13 serial bomb in Mumbai and the subsequent dialogue with Pakistan.

The Lok Sabha, too, was adjourned after the newly elected MP from Jamshedpur in Jharkhand, Ajay Kumar of Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (Prajatantrik), took oath and the House paid its respect to the departed members.
