Suraj Pancholi held for abetting actress Jiah Khan’s suicide

Mumbai, June 10, 2013: A week after Bollywood actress Jiah Khan committed suicide at her Juhu residence, her boyfriend Suraj Pancholi, son of an actor couple, was today arrested on the charge of abetment to suicide, police said.

"Suraj was booked under IPC section 306 of Indian Penal Code and placed under arrest in connection with Jiah Khan suicide case," Additional Police Commissioner Vishwas Nangre Patil told PTI.Suraj (21) will be produced before court tomorrow.

 

 

He was arrested on the basis of the six-page note written by the 25-year-old actress before she killed herself last Monday.

The actress said in the note that she was heartbroken because of Suraj Pancholi’s "womanising".

Jiah’s mother Rabia Khan today claimed that her daughter suffered "trauma and abuse" at the hands of her lover and his father.

Suraj is the son of actor couple Aditya Pancholi and Zarina Wahab.

The note mentions the "deep hurt" the actress felt at having to abort her baby with Suraj and reflects the rocky relationship she had with Suraj.
