Surprised at Supreme Court’s NJAC verdict: Law minister Gowda

New Delhi, October 16, 2015: Expressing surprise over the Supreme Court’s verdict declaring the National Judicial Appointments Commission (NJAC) as unconstitutional, Law Minister Sadananda Gowda on Friday said that his ministry will decide the future course over the issue only after consulting with the prime minister.

 

The Supreme Court’s decision invited varied response from political leaders and senior lawyers. Here’s look at who said what:

# I am really surprised with this verdict. Government represents people’s will.  We have to go through the text, will talk to law officers, senior colleagues and PM, then we will decide: Sadanand Gowda, law minister
