The patient had comorbidities, and was presented with breathlessness, cough, fatigue, and loss of appetite, a report in Times of India quoted its source as saying.

On evaluation, a chest X-ray revealed severe lower respiratory tract infection. The patient tested positive for Covid-19 and was shifted to an isolation ward and put on NIV support, the report stated.

He was treated with antibiotics, anti-virals, antihistamine, steroids, and UFH, but his condition worsened. Hospital records reveal that he died of severe Covid pneumonia, heart failure and cardiogenic shock, the report stated.

He also suffered from an old pulmonary tuberculosis, bronchial asthma, interstitial lung disease, and essential hypertension, TOI mentioned.

It concluded that the death, however, is not mentioned in the Karnataka Health Department’s daily Covid-19 abstract yet.
