Three luxury hotels in Bengaluru get bomb threat via email, cops call it ’hoax’

Bengaluru, May 23, 2024: Three luxury hotels in Bengaluru received bomb threats via email on Thursday. Police sources told India Today TV that it was a hoax email and nothing suspicious has been found at the premises so far.

The police and a bomb squad are currently at The Ottera Hotel in Electronic City.

The email was sent to The Ottera Hotel at 2 am on Thursday. As soon as the staff found the email, the police were immediately informed, after which a team rushed to the spot.


Bomb threat


CK Baba, DCP South-East division Bengaluru, said, "We are investigating further about the person who sent this mail."

The latest development comes in the wake of a spate of bomb threat mails sent to government establishments, schools, hospitals, and airports. So far, all of them have turned out to be fake.

On Wednesday, the North Block, where the office of the Union Home Ministry is situated in Delhi, received a bomb threat.

The Delhi Fire Service (DFS) said that a bomb threat email was received from the Police Control Room at the North Block .

The police said the email was fake after it failed to find anything suspicious after a thorough search of the premises.

On May 1, nearly 100 schools in Delhi, two in Noida and one in Lucknow received a bomb threat via email, prompting mass evacuations.
