Delhi, Jan 08, 2020: Delhi-NCR woke up to light rains on Wednesday and recorded a minimum temperature of 12.6 degrees Celsius.
Traffic was hit at several junctions and major arteries due to rain, causing trouble for commuters, IndiaToday reported.
Adjoining Gurugram, Noida, Faridabad and Ghaziabad also received light rains
The Indian Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for Delhi on Wednesday citing thundershowers accompanied with a hailstorm.
"Generally cloudy sky, light to moderate rain/thundershowers accompanied with hailstorm at isolated places. Strong surface winds (Speed 20-25 kmph)," the IMD said in its Delhi weather forecast for seven days.
The weatherman further predicted that for the next two days Delhi-NCR will be engulfed by fog with the temperature oscillating between 12 degrees Celsius and 17 degrees Celsius.
Despite the downpour, the pollution level of the national capital remained in the poor category for the third consecutive day with the air quality index at 242, said System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting And Research (SAFAR).
