Mumbai, Aug 29: Abdul Karim Tunda’s arrest in past fortnight has opened the Pandora ’s Box leading to several arrests and defusing destructive plans.

According to reliable sources, it was Tunda who tipped about a couple of destructive plans to conduct series of attacks in India which emphasised on some infiltration through Nepal-Gorakhpur border.

Abdul-Karim-Tunda-1"Those attacks as per Tunda was going to be instituted by India Mujahideen and supervised by IM founder Yasin Bhatkal and his associate Asadulla Akhtar who specialises in developing bombs (explosives) and planting it," adds a source from National Investigative Agency.

Acting on the tip, the intelligence agencies in India, Nepal and Interpol were informed. An alert was sounded and a trap was laid since a fortnight and the big fishes Bhatkal and Akhtar were nabbed.

After Yasin Bhatkal was arrested, the father of alleged Indian Mujahideen founder said he was extremely relieved to hear the news about his son’s arrest from India-Nepal border.

He said Yasin’s arrest has brought a relief to the family since they anticipated he would be eliminated in a fake encounter.

“We are relieved because the truth will come out and our fears that he would be eliminated in a fake encounter have been set to rest,”writes Yaqub Siddibapa in a press statement adding that his son should be treated innocent until proven guilty in court of law.

In the press statement, the family gave details about his early life, education and his Dubai trip from where he went missing since 2007.  Saying that they have full faith in judiciary, they requested news agencies not to conduct a media trial so that a free and fair trial could be commenced in court of law.

The National Investigation Agency, on Thursday, claimed to have arrested alleged Indian Mujahideen founder Yasin Bhatkal from India-Nepal border. He was arrested during an NIA operation in Nepal.
