New Delhi, Oct 6: A two-seater Indian Air Force plane was forced to make a precautionary landing at around 11:15 am in east Delhi’s Shastri Park today. No one has been injured.

The two pilots on board reportedly noticed the engine of the microlite aircraft had failed and decided to make a precautionary landing, according to the air force.

"I saw that the front wheels of the aircraft were inside the gutter and the back wheels in the air. I came to help when I saw the pilots come out. There was a car parked there and they narrowly missed it," said Ramzani, who lives nearby.

The park where the plan landed is surrounded by residential buildings.

"I have been watching planes fly by over the past few days. We understand its Air Force week. But they seem to not care about residents here to carry out practice in this area," said Afzal, another resident of the densely populated area.

The Air Force authorities also said the plane was not a part of the rehearsals for the Air Force day on October 8. The plane was reportedly on a routine survey.

The aircraft was not damaged during the landing and has been taken back to the Hindon air base after a thorough check.
