WT20: Will it be ’now or never’ for India, Pak on Sunday

Mangalore Today News Network

Mohali, Mar 25, 2016: It is known that at the start of the World T20, it was obvious that Group 2 - with India, Australia, Pakistan and New Zealand clustered together - was more difficult than Group 1.

WT20.jWith Bangladesh joining them through qualifiers, it turned out to be the proverbial "Suicide Group". As things stand at the moment, New Zealand, having notched up three wins in as many matches, have sailed into the semifinals while India, Pakistan and Australia will be hoping to seal the lone last-four spot from their group, with key matches coming up.

India’s task is clearer now. They have to beat Australia in their final group match here on March 27, Easter Sunday to progress to the next stage. A defeat will end their campaign as their net run-rate is inferior to both Pakistan and Australia.
