Woman commits suicide by jumping from 10th floor in Bengaluru

Bengaluru, Dec 08, 2015: A 24-year-old woman, whose boyfriend Charan died last week in a road accident, allegedly committed suicide this afternoon by jumping to death from the 10th floor of her office building on the prestigious MG Road in Bengaluru.

According to the police, the victim has been identified as Pooja (24), who worked as a consultant with a job portal www.babajob.com in Bengaluru. She had reportedly attended the funeral of Charan and was depressed for the last few days. This afternoon, around 2:30 pm, after meeting her colleagues, Pooja jumped from the 10th floor of the Prestige Obelisk building.

"We are probing the case, as she has left behind a suicide note. We are consulting her relatives," said Bengaluru Central DCP Sandeep Patil.

The police pointed out that Pooja had apologised to her parents in the suicide note for taking the extreme step. "I am sorry, I shouldn’t be doing this. Charan I cannot live without you," she reportedly wrote in her suicide note found in her office.

Charan had died in a road accident on the Ballari Road on the way to the Nandi Hills for a picnic with his friends. Since then, Pooja was under depression, her colleagues had informed the police.
