Woman jumps in front of moving bus hoping compensation would help children

Chennai, July 18, 2023: A woman sweeper working on contract at the Madurai collectorate in Tamil Nadu has died after she walked in front of a moving bus. The woman took the drastic step, hoping that some monetary compensation paid for her death would help her college going children pay their fees.
Although police had registered a case of death by accident two weeks ago, they’ve now altered the case following CCTV footage that has emerged.
Investigators say the woman, a single mother, was misled by someone who gave her the idea.

Being misled by someone, a mother, working as ‘safai karmachari’ at Collector’s office in Salem, kills herself by falling into a bus to get financial assistance from the Govt to pay son’s college fees of 45,000.

The shocking CCTV footage showed the woman walking on the side of the road before suddenly walking in front of a moving bus that was approaching from the opposite side.
