The decision about in-house, private hearings by a three-member panel was taken last week by the full court. All the judges, barring Justice Ranjan Gogoi, were present for the hearing.

The three-member panel comprises Justices SA Bobde, Indu Malhotra and Indira Banerjee. Justice NVorte Ramana, who was initially named, had withdrawn after the women complained that he was a family friend of the Chief Justice.
