On Thursday, it was reported that Rohini Acharya was going to donate her kidney to save Lalu Prasad’s life. On Friday, she took to Twitter to confirm reports of her donating a kidney to her father.

While declaring that she would donate her kidney to her father, Rohini also shared an old picture of her with Lalu when she was very small. Posting the picture, Rohini said, "My mother and father are God for me. I can do anything for them. Your best wishes have made me stronger. I express my heart felt gratitude to all of you. I am getting special love and respect from everyone. I have become emotional. I want to say my heartfelt thank you to all of you."

In another post, Rohini, who is currently based in Singapore, said, "The father who gave me voice in this world...if I can contribute even a small part of my life, then I will feel extremely fortunate. Mother and father are God on this earth and everyone should do the duty of serving them."

Stating that "it was just a small piece of flesh that she was donating to her father," Rohini said she could do anything for her father and prayed for everything to go well.

Lalu has been undergoing treatment at Delhi’s All India Institute of Medical Sciences for his kidney problem for several years. Doctors at AIIMS was against him undergoing kidney transplantation.

Rohini, who is Lalu’s second daughter, offered to donate one of her kidneys to him after doctors in Singapore advised the RJD chief to undergo kidney transplant during his visit to Singapore in October.

It has been learnt that initially, Lalu was not in favour of Rohini donating her kidney to save his life. However, Rohini pressurised him and he agreed to the proposal after much reluctance.

Lalu Prasad is likely to visit Singapore again between November 20-24, during which there are chances that he might undergo an operation for a kidney transplant.
