‘God save us from Modi model’: Sonia Gandhi

Barnala, Punjab, April 26: The Congress leadership on Saturday launched an all out attack on Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi. While Congress vice president took on the BJP leader on his home turf, Sonia Gandhi ‘prayed to god’ to stop ‘Modi model’.

 

 

Addressing a campaign rally in Amreli in Gujarat, Rahul called Modi a liar, saying while 6000 farmers have died in the state, the chief minister keeps on claiming that none of them have died in his state.

In a scathing attack on the BJP PM candidate, the Congress vice president said that Modi has sidelined all senior leaders like L K Advani, Jaswant Sinha, Yashwant Sinha and Sushma Swaraj. He further hit out at Modi over his alleged ties with businessman Adani, saying, “Modi does not need Advani as he has Adani now.”

The Gandhi scion went on to say that Modi’s “Gujarat model is all about giving benefits to one individual”, adding that it was Adani’s money that Modi used for his marketing and campaign.

Rahul also raked up the snooping row, accusing the Gujarat Chief Minister of talking about women empowerment in Delhi on one hand and on the other, getting phone calls of a woman tapped. He added that Modi has served RSS, whose leader was against giving voting rights to women.

Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi’s mother and Congress president Sonia Gandhi also hit out at the BJP PM candidate, alleging that he had given lands to Adani at very nominal rate.

Sonia further mocked Modi’s Gujarat model, saying “Bhagwan bachaye aise model se”
