Srinagar, Nov 05: Two days before Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit, militants lobbed a grenade on a CRPF camp in the Khayam area of Srinagar on Thursday evening, injuring 11 personnel.

Kashmir-blast-...A spokesman for the Central Reserve Paramilitary Force said four personnel were seriously injured, while the rest sustained minor injuries.

Police sources said the militants lobbed a grenade towards 82 CRPF stationed at Ikhwan Hotel in the Khayam area in the old city.``Some object was thrown from outside into the camp but we are not sure whether it was a grenade attack as we have found no metal,’’ the spokesman said.

All CRPF men injured in the blast were hospitalised.

The attack raises security concern as it was carried despite high alert in Srinagar. Al entry and exit points to the city have been barricaded.

Soon after the attack, police and CRPF contingents rushed to the spot and cordoned off the area.
