14 people fall sick after consuming biryani in Tamil Nadu�s Pudukkottai

Pudukkottai, May 05, 2022: In a suspected case of food poisoning, at least 14 people were admitted to a hospital in Tamil Nadu’s Pudukkottai after consuming biryani from a restaurant on May 4. All 14 were admitted with symptoms such as fatigue, vomiting and diarrhoea.

The incident was reported from Aranthangi in Pudukkottai district where a man named Chitiravel brought 40 packets of biriyani last night for the construction workers, working on his new home, and for a few relatives living near his place.

Chitravel purchased the food from a restaurant called A1 biriyani. Fourteen people who consumed food from the restaurant then fell sick.

Meanwhile, the police officials and food safety department have been informed about the incident.

A case has been registered and the biriyani shop has been sealed and an investigation is underway.
