2 dead, 10 injured after 3-storey building collapses in UP’s Barabanki

Barabanki, Sep 04, 2023: Two people died and around a dozen were injured after a three-storey building collapsed in Uttar Pradesh’s Barabanki this morning. The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) team has also arrived at the scene to rescue four people who are still trapped under the debris.

The incident happened around 3 am on Monday in Barabanki’s Fatehpur.

The injured have been referred to the Lucknow Trauma Center. People residing in the neighbouring houses were also trapped.

Chief Medical Superintendent (CMS) of the district hospital confirmed the deaths.

According to the Barabanki Superintendent of Police, Dinesh Singh, a total of 16 people were initially trapped inside the building. “The NDRF team has been called in for assistance, and a rescue operation is ongoing,” the police official said.
