20 fall ill after consuming prasad at religious function in Assam

Guwahati, Jan  10, 2020:   As many as 20 people, including several children, fell ill after consuming prasad at a religious function in Biswanath district of Assam on Thursday night.

 

The incident took place at Morolgaon village in Biswanath district where the people had eaten prasad during a religious function at a local’s house. They were later admitted to hospital after showing symptoms of food poisoning.

Owner of the house, where the religious function was held, said that at least 40 people took part at the shradh ceremony.

"The people started vomiting and complained of lower abdomen pain after consuming prasad. They were rushed to a hospital," the owner said.

The affected people were immediately admitted at Biswanath Charilai civil hospital in the district.

Doctors said that all of them are now out of danger.
