New Delhi, Feb 11, 2022: Four people, including a nine-year-old girl, died and two others were injured after a four-storey house collapsed in Delhi’s Narela Industrial area on Friday.
According to officials, two women - identified as Fatima and Shehnaz - were rescued from the debris and sent to a nearby hospital, where they were treated for injuries and were said to be stable. However, Shehnaz’s daughter and three others did not survive. Nine-year-old Afreen and three others, identified as Rukeya Khatoon, Shehzad and Danish were found dead under the rubble.
The fire department officials said that they had received the report of the collapse at 2.45 PM. Immediately, four fire tenders were rushed to the spot. A JCB machine and two ambulances were also sent to assist in rescue operations.
"The collapsed house was located in Rajiv Ratan Awas, a cluster of 300-400 flats," a fire brigade official said.
