Shimla, June 20, 2022: At least eleven tourists got stranded mid-air after their cable car developed a technical snag in Himachal Pradesh’s Parwanoo on Monday. A trolley has been deployed to rescue the stranded tourists. As of now, seven people have been rescued.
A technical team of Timber Trail operators have been deployed and a police team is currently monitoring the situation.
The cable car was carrying a total of 11 tourists when it stopped mid-air. Parwanoo official Chattar Singh told India today that the rescue operation is being carried out by the Timber Trail private resort staff.
An NDRF team will also be called if the tourists are not rescued immediately. The cable car has been stuck for the last two hours.
A similar incident was reported on the same ropeway in October 1992, when 11 passengers got stuck. They were later rescued by the Indian Air Force.
In April, three people died after tourists were stuck in cable cars in Jharkhand’s Deoghar district for more than 40 hours.
