5 missing after boat capsizes in Andhra Pradesh’s East Godavari

Andhra Pradesh, Jul 14, 2018 : Five people were reported missing after a boat capsized in Andhra Pradesh’s East Godavari district on Saturday.
There were more than 40 people on the boat, which sank in the Gautami river after collision with a bridge pillar, news agency ANI reported. A search operation is underway.
Most of the passengers were students, state Disaster Management Department sources said.
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has directed district officials to step up rescue operations, sources said.
The Gautami river is a tributary of the Godavari.
