Kollam, Kerala, Jan 01, 2015: Six engineering students returning from a New Year party were killed when their car hit a tanker early Thursday morning in Kerala’s Kollam.
The police said the students died on the spot and it was difficult even to pull out their bodies from the car, which was smashed by the impact of the collision.
They were all third year students at TKM Kollam Engineering College.
The students were returning from Varkala beach after a party and were allegedly trying to overtake another car on the highway when their car rammed a tanker-truck on the opposite side.
"The car was travelling at a high speed and it hit my lorry. The bodies were taken out with great difficulty. All of them died on the spot," the driver of the tanker told the media.
