Aurangabad, Oct 29, 2022: Over 30 people have been injured after a two-storey building caught fire due to a gas cylinder explosion in Bihar’s Aurangabad. The building is situated on one of the narrowest streets in the city, near Odia Gali, and it caught a massive fire after an explosion jolted the area. The injured have been admitted to Sadar Hospital and their treatment is underway.
Seven police officials also got scorched while dousing the fire and they were rushed to Sadar Hospital.
Sources said that the fire broke out amid Chhath Puja preparations that were held at a residence on Murphy Radio’s street located on Old GT Road and the women of his house were making prasad for the festival. Sources said that the cylinder had been leaking while the residents were preparing prasad (offerings) for the festival and it was realised only after a gas pipe exploded with a loud bang.
The incident impacted many, including more than 30 people who were injured in the massive fire. Police personnel who went to douse the fire were also scorched by the blazing flames. They are being treated at Sadar Hospital.
