After sex, illegal stock of sandalwood found at the Ashram

M.today

Bangalore, March 04: Close on the heels of god-man Nityananda Paramahamsa’s sex romp coming to light, a team of forest officials raided his ashram in Bidadi, a Bangalore suburb and confiscated two kilograms of sandalwood logs illegally stored on the premises.

While the swami’s whereabouts are unknown, a team of officials led by Deputy Conservator of Forest, Geetanjali raided the premises and seized the sandalwood. Officials also took three persons into custody for questioning, and the ashram management has been booked under the Forest Act.

Officials said they were investigating to ascertain where the management got the sandalwood, to find out if it was stolen or bought from poachers.

Meanwhile, the Bidadi ashram management has filed a complaint with the Bidadi police that someone from Chennai called the ashram a day before the sex romp was aired and threatened to expose him.

On Tuesday night, Sun TV, a leading Tamil television channel, showed clippings of Swami Nityananda in a compromising position with a popular Tamil actress. This led to widespread protests. In Coimbatore, angry followers took to streets and vandalised property. The Swami’s ashram in Bidadi was stoned and also set on fire by an unruly mob on Wednesday afternoon
