Lucknow, March 10: The RLD also announced Amar Singh as its candidate for Lok Sabha election from Fatehpur Sikri, while Jaya Prada would be contesting from Bijnor constituency. Both the seats in Uttar Pradesh were left by the Congress for ally RLD.
Soon after joining the party, Amar Singh declared that he was not joining the RLD just to win the election. He said there was no difference in his statement and action, as in case of most of the other leaders.
Praising Congress president Sonia Gandhi, Singh said, "I respect Sonia-ji a lot. I will do whatever she asks me to... Ajit Singh is our leader now."
The former close aide of Mulayam Singh Yadav didn’t forget to miss the SP chief in his address. "This is the main residence of Mulayam Singh as he started his political career from here. Mulayam Singh-ji, I have come to your old house and you should also come here," he said.
Amar Singh said he had no fight against BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi.
"It is not a gang war. You are the one who make somebody a leader, and you only dethrone him. You made Arvind Kejriwal a hero when you wanted and deflated him when you didn’t like him," Amar Singh said in his address to people.
