New Delhi, Oct 24, 2011 : : Politician Amar Singh has been granted bail by the Delhi High Court. He has been ordered not to travel outside India, and to deposit surety of Rs. 50 lakh, and a bond of Rs. 50 lakh.
Mr Singh is currently at Delhi’s AIIMS hospital.
The Rajya Sabha MP was arrested on September 6 for allegedly bribing three BJP MPs in 2008 to support the government in a trust vote.
At the time, Mr Singh was with the Samajwadi Party.
After his arrest, Mr Singh complained that he was unwell and was moved to hospital. He went through a kidney transplant last year and his doctors say he needs constant monitoring and supervision.
