The actor suffered minor injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was treated as an outpatient.

According to the police, the accident occurred at 10 am in front of the Dalai Lama College at Sheshagirihalli near Bidadi as Anant Nag was returning from Mysuru. He was returning to the City after shooting for a Kannada movie ‘Airavatha’ in which Darshan is playing the lead role.

Manjunath, who was driving the car, lost balance while taking a right turn near Dalai Lama College. The air bags of the car opened as it collided with a private vehicle. “For a while I lost consciousness as everything seemed dark for me. I failed to understand what was happening. It took a while for me to regain consciousness,” Manjunath told the police.

After the air bags opened, the car jumped the median and entered the other side of the road. Two cars that were moving on the other side hit the actor’s car. Anant Nag’s car veered towards the roadside and stopped, said the police.

A few local residents rushed to the accident spot and helped the actor come out. They rushed him and the driver to a nearby hospital. He had bruises in his leg and back. Another car was arranged for Anant Nag to travel to Bengaluru, added the police.

Manjunath has been booked under IPC Sections 279 (rash driving) 337 (causing hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others). The accident disrupted vehicular movement for about one hour on the busy Bengaluru-Mysuru Road. The police deployed additional forces which cleared the vehicles and ensured smooth traffic flow, added the police.
