Besides Kejriwal, AAP leaders Kumar Vishwas, Ashutosh, Sanjay Singh, Raghav Chadha and Deepak Bajpai were also granted bail in the case.

Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Sumit Dass granted the relief to AAP leaders on a personal bond of Rs 20,000 each with one surety of like amount.

The court has now fixed the matter for May 19 for further arguments in the case.

The court had summoned them for the alleged offences under Sections 500 (criminal defamation) and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Kejriwal and other accused had appeared in court in pursuance to the summons issued against them on March 9.

Jaitley accused Kejriwal and other AAP leaders of giving "false and defamatory" statements against him in a case related to the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA), thereby harming his reputation.

The AAP leaders had alleged corruption in the DDCA, which Jaitley headed for 13 years until 2013. Jaitley has denied the allegations.
