Bengaluru, May 11, 2022: As Cyclone Asani weakens into a cyclonic storm, Bengalureans are expected to enjoy showers and drizzles over the next five days, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
As per the IMD data, the overcast skies in Bengaluru also brought down the maximum temperature to 24.3 degrees Celsius on Tuesday against 31.5 degrees Celsius on Monday.
Meanwhile, the minimum temperature too settled at 20.2 degrees Celsius.

As per the prediction by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Bengaluru is likely to experience rain and thunderstorms with cloudy conditions. Rainfall occurred at a few places over South Interior Karnataka and at isolated places over coastal areas in the last 24 hours, said the weather department.

The weather department has also warned of rainfall accompanied with thunderstorms in a few places over coastal Karnataka and south interior parts of the state. Light showers have also been predicted for north interior Karnataka.
Under the influence of Cyclone Asani which is moving over the Bay of Bengal, the maximum temperature dipped to 24.5 degrees, nine degrees below normal in Bengaluru on Tuesday, making it the coldest day in May since 2000. The observatory also recorded a rainfall of 3.5 mm till 5.30 PM.
