New Delhi, Sep 28, 2023: Another day, another shot at more silverware. And that is exactly what Indian athletes clinched at the beginning of the day as the trio of Indian shooters Sarabjot Singh, Arjun Cheema and Shiva Narwal shot their way to another gold for the nation, whilst Roshibina also fought her way to a Wushu Silver.

Asian Games

Wushu – Women’s 60kg FINAL:

Roshibina Devi Naorem put up a valiant effort, but could not overcome China’s Xiaowei Wu, who put her down 2-0 to clinch the top spot.

But, Roshibina assured herself and India a Silver and will be proud to recognise that she had progrssed from her previous outing in the Asian Games in 2018, where she clinched a Bronze for the nation.

Men’s 10m Air Pistol (Team):

Shooters shoot. And the Indian contingent are shooting their way to glory, as the trio of Sarabjot Singh, Arjun Cheema and Shiva Narwal earned themselves a team Gold in the 10m Air Pistol event.

The trio eked out China’s trio with a score of 1734-50x to 1733-62x in order to clinch the team gold. Out of the three, Sarabjot Singh and Arjun Cheema also qualified for the individual finals, where they will have yet another shot at more silverware.

Men’s 10m Air Pistol FINALS (Individual):

Unfortunately for the duo that clinched the Gold in the team event, it was not meant to be in the finals, as both Sarabjot Singh and Arjun Cheema came up short missing out on any possible silverware.

Arjun Cheema had a disappointing outing, finishing dead last at 8th place with a score of 113.3 points, while Sarabjot missed out on a potential Bronze as he finshed 4th with a score of 199.0 — twenty points lower than third-placed Svechnikov, who ended up with 219.9 points.

These respective wins bring India’s total tally at the Asian Games up to 24 medals, consisting of  6 Golds, 8 Silvers, and 10 Bronzes. India are currently 7th in the medals tally in the Asian Games.
